LGBTQIA2S+ (plus) leaders at Creating Change do not get financial compensation for the time, energy, and emotional and intellectual labor they invest into organizing the institute, outside of the waiver of their registration fees. They have to figure out, on their own, how they'll get there, where to stay, how they'll eat, and how to get around at the conference.
Statistically, bi+ (plus) folk are more likely to be un- or underemployed than both straight people AND gays and lesbians - and that's especially true for bi+ (plus) folk who are also BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). In addition, many of us tend to have multiple disabilities and access needs, which becomes another financial barrier (in the U.S., 82.5% of disabled people are UNEMPLOYED).
The Bisexual+ Institute is a critically important part of Creating Change, but without facilitators, it won't happen! If you are able, please consider making a contribution by CLICKING HERE, or share to spread the word! Thank you!
