This year, the 23rd coincides with Yom Kippur so Bisexual Organizing Project (BOP) has moved the party one week later! We welcome our entire community of people attracted to more than one gender and our allies to our celebration. Bring friends, family, and kids to be a part of one of the best bi+ parties of the year. Sidhe Brewing will be hosting our private event Wednesday, September 30 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. BOP will provide appetizers and soft drinks including vegan and gluten free options. You may also purchase items off the menu from Senior Sol’s (next door) and from the Sidhe Brewing bar on your own tab. Entertainment will be provided by North Star Blues Project. Socializing, Community Recognition Awards, and entertainment all combine to make this a great social event for the entire community. Board and card games will be available. Bisexual Awareness Week began in 2014 to raise awareness of bisexual identities. This year, educational and community events across the country are being promoted along with media awareness campaigns in many markets across the country. BOP’s mission is to build, serve, and advocate for an empowered bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled community to promote social justice. BOP events are welcoming and inclusive of all people attracted to more than one gender and our allies, including but not limited to, people of all genders, gender identities, sexual orientations, sexes, relationship orientations, races, ethnicities, national origins, abilities, religions, sizes, political affiliations and others. We embrace the many intersectionalities in the bi+ community and encourage people of all backgrounds and experiences to participate. Friends, family, and allies are welcome at all BOP events. BECAUSEBECAUSE 2020
BECAUSE 2020 Cancelled The BECAUSE leadership team and the BOP board have been reviewing forecasts for what this Fall will look like including continued COVID hotspots, limitations on travel, and how people are going to be feeling about being large groups. We feel the most responsible action at this time is to cancel BECAUSE 2020. We have explored moving the conference on line as many conferences and gatherings have done and find it is not the best option for BECAUSE. The BOP board is developing virtual community building that we hope will help bridge this time for our community. Please check out BOP's Facebook Page, Facebook Group, Meetup Group, and Twitter to stay informed of upcoming events. We are currently in discussion with our location, Wellstone Center, and our planned speakers and special guests to make BECAUSE 2021 one of the best ever. We hope you will join us in October 2021. MissionBuild, serve and advocate for an empowered bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community to promote social justice. Vision
Within the next five years grow Bisexual Organizing Project (BOP) into a successfully-run Upper Midwest nonprofit organization with annual funding of $100,000 that provides community building, education, and advocacy for the bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community and our allies.
