#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving powered by social media! In honor of #GivingTuesday, Facebook is partnering with PayPal to match donations a total of up to $7 million to U.S. nonprofits on Facebook. Match details.
BOP's mission is to build, serve and advocate for an empowered bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community to promote social justice.BOP is an entirely volunteer-run nonprofit. We are passionate about providing accessible programming and resources for the bi+ community, and work hard to keep our services free or pay-what-you-can. We can do this because of the support of our community and generous donors like YOU!

BOP hosts the annual BECAUSE (Bisexual Empowerment Conference, A Uniting, Supportive Experience) conference, the largest and longest-running conference for the bi+ community in the United States.  We keep BECAUSE as accessible as possible with free or pay-what-you-can registration, by providing meals and receptions throughout the weekend, and by offering scholarships. Paid registrations only cover about a third of our conference expenses. The conference happens because of the amazing financial support of individuals, organizations, and businesses. Help us keep BECAUSE available to the entire community!

Your donation also allows BOP to provide free and pay-what-you-can social events and community spaces year-round, such as our Bi+ Book Club, Bi+ Discussion Meetups, Bi+ Walking Club, Bi+ Board Game Nights, "Pancakes for Pansexuals", and many more! Your support also helps BOP to produce our annual Bi-Lesque performance, which has been hailed as "one of the most important burlesque shows in [the Twin Cities]."

Another important part of BOP’s work is attending regional Pride celebrations in Minnesota and beyond. We provide a bi+ resource to attendees, work with Pride organizers to keep bi and trans included in their promotions and onsite language, and network with other organizations around the region about how they are serving their bi+ constituents. Help us fund our bi+ advocacy in our region.
Give with Facebook! Create a Facebook fundraiser and share it with your friends on #GivingTuesday! Let your family and friends know that supporting BOP and BECAUSE is important to you, and that they can help! Creating a fundraiser is easy and we welcome fundraisers with any goal amount. Start a Fundraiser
Give with PayPal!Support Bisexual Organizing Project at paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/1949726. PayPal is matching donations dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $500,000. Once reached, PayPal will add 1% to all remaining donations.

    BECAUSE 2020

    BECAUSE 2020 Cancelled
The BECAUSE leadership team and the BOP board have been reviewing forecasts for what this Fall will look like including continued COVID hotspots, limitations on travel, and how people are going to be feeling about being large groups. We feel the most responsible action at this time is to cancel BECAUSE 2020. We have explored moving the conference on line as many conferences and gatherings have done and find it is not the best option for BECAUSE.
The BOP board is developing virtual community building that we hope will help bridge this time for our community. Please check out BOP's Facebook Page, Facebook Group, Meetup Group, and Twitter to stay informed of upcoming events.
We are currently in discussion with our location, Wellstone Center, and our planned speakers and special guests to make BECAUSE 2021 one of the best ever. We hope you will join us in October 2021.

    Mission

Build, serve and advocate for an empowered bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community to promote social justice.

    Vision

Within the next five years grow Bisexual Organizing Project (BOP) into a successfully-run Upper Midwest nonprofit organization with annual funding of $100,000 that provides community building, education, and advocacy for the bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community and our allies.
