Nominate your favorite bisexual business, individual, or community organization for the Bisexual Organizing Project's Community Recognition Award.
Nominations for the 2014 Community Recognition Awards will be accepted until 12:00 pm on Monday, September 8, 2014.
The Bisexual Organizing Project developed the Community Recognition Awards (CRA) because of the lack of other awards specifically recognizing work done by and for bisexual and other non-monosexual communities and their allies in the Upper Midwest. CRA seeks to fill this gap and, by doing so, seeks to inspire more individuals, organizations, and businesses to serve bi /non-monosexual communities and include bisexual/non-monosexual issues in their work and organizing, in accordance with BOP’s mission and vision. BOP gives up to one award each year in each of three possible categories: business, individual, and community organization.
Each award winner will receive a personalized commemorative plaque, along with an award honorarium. Additionally, BOP will publish the names and pictures of the award winners on the BOP website. Nomination Instructions
The Bisexual Organizing Project has three Community Recognition Award categories for the 2014 CRA’s – Individual, Community Organization, and Business. BOP will grant up to one Award per category. Individuals, community organizations, and businesses with their residence or primary place of business and/or service outreach in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, or Iowa are eligible to be nominated. Anyone may nominate a candidate for an Award. To nominate a candidate, a nominator must complete the appropriate nomination form and submit it either by snail mail or by e-mail to BOP. Additionally, nominators can submit letters of support or other supplementary materials to strengthen their candidate’s Award Nomination.

BECAUSE 2020 Cancelled
The BECAUSE leadership team and the BOP board have been reviewing forecasts for what this Fall will look like including continued COVID hotspots, limitations on travel, and how people are going to be feeling about being large groups. We feel the most responsible action at this time is to cancel BECAUSE 2020. We have explored moving the conference on line as many conferences and gatherings have done and find it is not the best option for BECAUSE.
The BOP board is developing virtual community building that we hope will help bridge this time for our community. Please check out BOP's Facebook Page, Facebook Group, Meetup Group, and Twitter to stay informed of upcoming events.
We are currently in discussion with our location, Wellstone Center, and our planned speakers and special guests to make BECAUSE 2021 one of the best ever. We hope you will join us in October 2021.
Build, serve and advocate for an empowered bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community to promote social justice.
Within the next five years grow Bisexual Organizing Project (BOP) into a successfully-run Upper Midwest nonprofit organization with annual funding of $100,000 that provides community building, education, and advocacy for the bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community and our allies.
